The influence of the Great Silk Road for the development of inter­cultural relations and the formation of special historical and cultural landscapes in Asia, the Middle East, Southem Europe and North Africa are considered in this article. Cultural exchange between civilizations, regions and states in the historical period of the existence of the Great Silk Road led to form the special historical and cultural landscapes on the line of following this trade communication. The characteristics of these territorial areas identified in this research, which may Ье located on the territory of one state, and to unite the boundaries of several states. Тhе revealed features of historical urban development and architecture of these zones allow to speak about integrity of historical and genetic basis of the formation of the cultural foundations of the state within the borders of the historical and cultural landscape. This situation says that is necessary to form а policy of protection of historic landscapes on the basis of intercultural dialogue.
