ESTIMATED JUSTIFICATION FOR ARRANGEMENT OF THE EARTH LAYER OF THE RAILWAY ON PERMAFROST GROUNDS
The article presents the results of a calculation study of the process of freezing
and thawing of a roadbed in the «FEMmodels software» for a long period by the finite element
method. Calculation of the program assumes that the investigated area together with the structure
is divided into finite elements with the same temperature and soil characteristics. At the
upper boundary, the heat flux, variable in time, is acted upon by the given air temperatures and
heat transfer coefficients. The results of modeling allow choosing rational designs of the roadbed
in the design, which reduce the values of deformations to the allowed values.
