ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS OF THE FAR EAST – GRADUATES OF SAINT-PETERSBURG ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING SCHOOLS (THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX – EARLY XX CENTURY)

The article reflects the results of a study conducted by the author as part of a
scientific project “The creative heritage of the graduates of the St. Petersburg Architectural and
Engineering Schools in the Far East (second half of the XIX - early XX centuries)”. The main
directions of creative and professional activities of Far Eastern architects and engineers who received
education at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, the Institute of Civil Engineers, the Nikolas
Academy of Engineering and the Institute of Railway Engineers are considered. Three
main stages of the development of the Far East have been identified that correspond to the
volume of participation and the degree of influence on this process of graduates of the
architectural and engineering schools of St. Petersburg.
