ILLUMINATION OF BUILDINGS AS ONE OF THE COMPONENTS TO CREATING A FAVORABLE URBAN ENVIRONMENT

The article examines the history of the emergence and development of light
design. The methods and types of architecture illumination are considered, such as the illumination
of buildings with searchlights, LED lighting, general floodlighting, local facade lighting,
contour lighting, and light painting. The effect of the highlight color on the psycho-emotional
state of a person is analyzed, tones that favorably affect the state of people are identified. The
ideal color is determined for different areas of stay, the division of the psychological effect of
light into two categories: warm and cold.
It was revealed the existing state of illumination of the streets of Khabarovsk at night.
After analyzing the problems in the coverage of the city, such as the implementation of the illumination
of streets and buildings, mainly through advertising, or locally in administrative buildings
and architectural monuments, a suitable type of illumination was proposed for buildings in
Khabarovsk. The option of lighting the central part of the city with the help of contour illumination
of certain colors, creating a single effective light space of urban development, is considered
