URBAN PANORAMA AS AN ELEMENT OF INDIVIDUALISATION OF TERRITORY
The work aims to the study of panorama shaping in various places. It’s presented
a brief historical analysis of silhouettes development. It’s carried out a comparative assessment
of historical cities and cities of the new era. There are revealed some new trends in the
urban environment structure. There is suggested a vantage point classification of actual visible
horizons. It’s reproduced the wording of "city silhouette" and the meaning of this term is determined.
The planning solution is the basis of the city composition, but the composition also
manifests itself through the urban silhouette, which can be positioned as a boundary between the
volume of the city and the infinity of the sky. With onset of the XXI century high buildings
reach extraordinary heights, acquire a vivid image and increasingly play an important role in the
formation of city skyline. Today many cities in the world compete for image improvement, as
well as for the recognition of their silhouette.
The advantageous place for review, with which the celestial line is connected, determines
how it will be perceived in the future. In general, we can distinguish three main types of
species points: a view from the embankment along the river or coastline, views of the surroundings
and high-altitude views.
