FORMATION OF THE MODERN CITY INTERIOR

The formation of the urban environment is a multidimensional phenomenon,
multi-stage, in which architectural creativity is only part of the factors interacting in the overall
process. Therefore, in architectural theory there is not even an established term for the materialspatial
object with which the architect is operated in this case. It is called "a fragment of the urban
environment", "urban space", "external urban space", "urban landscape", "urban interior",
implying an architectural environment designed for urban activities that do not require enclosed
spaces, actively associated with natural-climatic influences or allowing them in a wide range.
The most widely used in recent years are two definitions: "open urban spaces" and "urban
interior", more precisely others determine the architectural essence of the object. Urban interior is a
whole perceived concrete fragment of the art-mastered urban space, in which part of the real fences
(plafond, walls) are replaced by conditional (sky, panorama). Therefore, architects are interested in
identifying the main characteristics of urban space and the interior or space forms. This article is devoted
to the analysis of urban space (urban interior), which is inherent in the closed, open and linear
type of spaces and the formation of the concept of "place spirit" in the mind of the viewer.
