The hexagonal grid as a way of organizing the material-spatial environment is
becoming an increasingly convincing fact of the human being’s modern existence, and therefore
this issue deserves close attention. The reason for its use was becoming the mass industrial production
according to considerations of economy. By this way the hexagonal grid is in opposition
to the dominant in human activity orthogonal one. Thanks to the development of digital, bio and
nanotechnology, it has become a futuristic symbol and is actively popularized through the products
of mass media and cinema. The facts of the dominant position of the hexagonal grid in nature
compared to the orthogonal are also given. It is concluded that the domination of the orthogonal
grid in the organization of the artificial environment of a human is a product of his consciousness
and mentality, tied to the three-dimensionality of his biological body. In relation to the macro-,
meso- and micro-levels of an objectively existing Universe, this is an anomaly. Therefore, it is
competent to raise the question of the harmonious entry of a human into multidimensional world
overcoming the “flat” three-dimensional existence. In support of this position, the well-known
sacred symbols of various beliefs and religions are cited as ancient signs of multidimensionality
of the Creation and the spiritual connection with him of a human. This philosophical theme occurs
at the junction of such diverse spheres as the economy of industrial production, science and
religion. It is concluded that overcoming mental attachment to three-dimensional space will be a
transformation of consciousness.
