This research is devoted to the problem of University students and graduates,
especially designers and architects, of the formation of professional ecological attitude.
The share of environmentally friendly urban space is reduced, that’s why nature
and people are displaced from the cities by technique and communications, equipment,
buildings. The spatially-ecological problems, the regularities in the development of environmental
consciousness and human activity are leading to the need of alternative, problem-
based approach in solving the issues of improving the architectural space and, accordingly,
to the preparation of specialists with the former professional environmental
thinking. Features of such thinking are causing by the environmental consciousness of the
individual. The formation of this kind of professional competence can be implemented in
the context of humanitarian paradigm of education. Professional competence of a future
designer as a result of education should be reviewed through a competence-based approach,
taking into account that cognition in the present state of the social Sciences and
Humanities knowledge has an interdisciplinary. Major existing methods of formation of
ecological consciousness in the University and in the system of auxiliary environmental
education (AEE) are considered. Designs and architects as talented individual, should not
only anthropocentrically change the nature, but also psychologically change itself the development
of its own nature (their abilities) in accordance with the universal principles of
development of the whole Nature.
