Transit crossroads of urban development by railways are found in most large
and major cities. Most often such a route is justified by its optimal location, but at the same time
it entails a wide range of problems and conflict situations. Noise and vibration loads are particularly high in the adjacent areas. This affects not only the level of comfort of the environment,
but also directly on the health of residents. In addition, the risk of fire hazard determines the
ruptures from the railroad to the buildings and structures of residential and public areas of the
city. Construction of sanitary protection corridors negatively affects the integrity of the city
structure, connectivity of its communications and functional zones. Another important factor is
the aesthetic factor, which is expressed in the unpresentable construction of the accompanying
purpose. The article deals with the removal of the railway beyond the city limits as the most
effective method, as well as multilevel distribution of transport and pedestrian flows. International experience offers the use of new technologies, consisting in the application of highly efficient materials of railway structures and systems, shielding of railway tracks, the use of integrated system of planting of sanitary protection zones and increasing the aesthetic quality and
expressiveness of profile buildings. Solution of the problem of transit crossing of the city by rail
is being solved in two main directions: ecological and town-planning.
