Interactive elements in the interior of multipurpose venues as the way to create emotionaly and artistically flexible image of the environment

The goal of this study is to work out the concept that would ensure the
relationship between interactive elements and architectural means of expression within
the interior of multipurpose venues so that to create its aesthetics, psychological and
functional flexibility. The article highlights the relevance of the topic as well as pro-vides
us with some examples of multipurpose spaces which contain interactive elements. In
the first part the concept of interactivity and potential advantages of its application are
discussed. It is stated that various events differ in the character of performance and the
means of planning transformation do not allow adjusting the image and emotional environment
of the interior. In the second paragraph two examples of interactive spaces are
presented. Both of them show how such systems can be applied to create interiors with
various degree of visual flexibility and they also illustrate different approaches to the
choice and the location of these elements. In the third part some ideas of how this approach
to the design of multipurpose spaces could be developed are shared. An analogy
with kinetic facades which react to the changes of the environment is drawn and it is
assumed that for multipurpose venues human emotions may become such a pa-rameter
that would influence the image and the look of the space. As far as emotional recognition
technologies already exist and evolve, a model of interaction between spec-tators, event
and architecture could be elaborated.
