COMMERCIAL BAROQUE AND CHINESE BAROQUE IN ARCHITECTURE OF HARBIN IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE XX CENTURY

On the basis of the mass commercial development of Harbin in the first half of the XX century, three versions of using baroque motives are considered: in Russian merchant architecture, in international representative architecture and building Fu-jia-dian area (so-called “Chinese Baroque”). The main unit section is devoted to analysis of the phenomenon of “Chinese Baroque”; there characteristic features of building Fu-jia-dian area are identified. Finding prototypes the authors refer to the historical architectural
heritage of Calabria (Lecce) and Sicily (Ragusa, Noto, Modica).
