FROM NEGATIVE GEOPOLITICS TO THE COMFORT ZONE: CASE OF THE “VILLAGE OF GORKY “
On the foundation of the comprehensive analysis of the village named by Gorky (Khabarovsk) there was proposed the concept of revitalization of the whole fragment of the extant historical environment. The concept is based on the conservative idea and the attempt to museumificate the Soviet way of life. The creation of multifunctional public spaces of a new type was proposed. In order to attract tourists it has been developing several cultural codes such as “merchant Nizhny Novgorod”, the post-war Soviet Empire of industrial communities, Soviet modernism of the 60s. It is expected to attract such residents as pensioners and “urban farmers”.
